SRI LANKA
Often known as teardrop of India, Sri Lanka is a small island with its pride embedded in its richness and beauty. It serves as a popular tourist destination owing to the variety of enjoyable and recreational activities it offers and the scenic beauty that captures the hearts of the tourists who step here.
Sri Lanka is very famous among cricket fans and people from all over the region gather here often to witness a game between the top teams of the world. At the same time visitors to the island previously known as Ceylon enjoy the beaches all over the island. Whether is be sunbathing or the services offered by the resorts, everyone leaves the island smiling. Hikkaduwa is an example of the many well-known beaches in Sri Lanka and is also famous for its brooding turtles.
The very busy city of Sri Lanka, Colombo, own the commercial heart of the country. Although not a big city, unlike many of its other counterparts in the nearby vicinity, Colombo has some of the tallest building in Asia. Its northern part, however, is occupied by British fort from the 19th century as well as many other remains of its colonial domination.
But of course, the coconut plantations and the paddy fields are symbolic to the country’s popularity around the globe. Also, the Southern part of the country is ideal for tea plantations and its export greatly contributes to the economy of the island. Nuwara Eliya, the village, is one such example. Dense rain forests and a variety of wildlife inhabit the south-western part of the island. Ruhunu and Wilpattu are two of the many national parks that offer the facility of over-night stay for those who enjoy being woken up by the trumpeting of an elephant.
